Title Block Analysis

This logo is from a music magazine called 'NME'

The logo has uses bold capital letters which allows it to stand out and also attract readers/ audience; the fact of using bold writing is for the audience to remember the logo with its uniqueness thus becoming a well-known magazine for key demographics that are interested in music. The colour it has is bright red, which can connote attention, in relation with standout font it gives subliminal idea of the logo being remembered by many. The logo itself is straight to the point, meaning it only has three letters which makes it easy to remember and makes it less boring for the reader, leaving the magazine to be unattractive and not of use.

This logo is from a music magazine called 'MOJO'

In this logo, they use 2 types of fonts used; firstly 'MOJO' is set out in big bold font which is what captures the audience’s attention which its aim is to remind people about their magazine with that logo. additionally, the fact of just using writing and nothing else connotes sophistication about the website, to reassure readers that it's targeted at music at professional level which can infer a lot of text inside their magazines. Evidently the other font style writing 'The Music Magazine'.

This is the logo I made for music magazine called 'The Bass'

I used experimented with many font styles on a website called Dafont, I wanted my logo to related to the genre of music that I will basing my magazine on which will be rap/ hip hop. I felt this font was effective for my logo as it clearly stands out and creates a bass like effect. Moreover the fact that I have used capital letters is the same reason many leading magazines have used so, to stand out and create something unique and not something copied. Of course I will need to change the colour as I feel it's too dull and needs to contain an element of vibrancy to it.
